About Us

Our Story

We are veterans of Patrol Squadron SEVENTEEN who first organized as alumni from the 1970-1975 era and held our inaugural reunion in Pensacola in 1998.

That reunion was such a hit we decided to do an encore there in 2004. But when Hurricane Ivan blew in one day ahead of us, we made an overnight switch to Atlanta. Incredibly, almost everyone was able to change their travel plans at the last minute, make it to Atlanta and we had another happy and successful reunion. Even got a little financial assistance from the Atlanta Falcons, who were staying at our hotel for pregame meetings the night of our banquet.

We've since had truly memorable reunions in Colorado Springs (2007), New Orleans (2010) and Chattanooga twice, in 2013 and 2016. For most of us, our upcoming get-together in Sept 2018 will be our first trip to Boise, Idaho, so we're eager to check it out and, of course, to see each other once again. For the latest on this reunion and to view Boise photos, go the 2018 REUNION tab above and see why "Boise -- beats da hell outta Joisey!"

Our VP-17 family has expanded well beyond our original "year group" to include alumni from many other years, and our WELCOME mat is always out.
